Two TNA originals wrestling for the WWE Championship at Summerslam. Who’da thunk it? It’s a damn shame there’s still that glass ceiling above them. No matter how great AJ’s matches are, Smackdown just can’t get a pay per view main event. And yes, I do think it’s about Smackdown being the “B-show,” as opposed to anything AJ is or isn’t doing.

We need to be careful with our expectations on this one. Let’s be honest: At Wrestlemania, Styles vs. Nakamura was a disappointment. Not because they had a bad match, but because expectations were impossibly high. Styles vs. Joe could easily fall into the same trap.

This one could go either way. One way or another, I’m sure these two will rematch. Word leaked awhile back that WWE was advertising Styles vs. Joe for Hell in a Cell, inside the namesake structure. Because this feud has gotten so personal so quickly, I’m inclined to believe that’s still the plan.

But I’m going to go with AJ. Joe absolutely deserves a run with the title at some point. But in the realm of WWE, Styles is really starting to build a legacy for himself with that title. Think about everybody he’s overcome in the last year to retain it. And of course, think about what a moment it will be when somebody finally beats him.

I’m just gonna say it: Do the title change at Survivor Series. Miz beats Styles. Book it!
