Are Tim Drake and Kate Kane supposed to be close friends? Tim Drake: Robin #8 acts as if they are. But they virtually never appear together, do they? Nevertheless, it’s cool to see two LGBTQ characters teaming up like this.

This issue sees our two main characters burst out of the waters of Gotham Marina on motorcycles. Tim says he’s been working on making the motors on the bikes waterproof. That can’t be a thing in the real world…can it? It’s got to be comic book science.

Kevin Altieri’s art is reminiscent of the original Batman: The Animated Series, as opposed to the subsequent show, The New Batman Adventures. That’s not a bad thing, per se. But aren’t these Adventures Continue issues are supposed to look like the latter?

This issue is largely about Harley Quinn, and incorporates her bisexual nature into the story. I have to assume that’s been formally done in the BTAS universe before…right? It’s certainly been done in the main DC Universe.

Heard any interesting news lately?

The news about Jon Kent being bisexual shouldn’t have come as a surprise to anyone who read the previous three issues. It was obvious something was going on with Jon and Jay Nakamura.

I was happy to see a couple of characters from Tom Taylor’s Suicide Squad run pop up in this issue. I figured it was inevitable that they’d show up in a future Taylor project.

As we can see by the cover, the Kent household gets blown up here. I wonder how many times they’ve pulled that stunt. Feels like a lot.
