Summerslam Predictions – Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns

*sigh*

They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. And yet, they just keep hammering this nail over and over again.

Here’s what I will say: For at least one night, they did manage to get a decent number of people behind Roman. On July 30 in Cincinatti, the fans were chanting for him during the segment where Brock attacked Kurt Angle and then grabbed Paul Heyman. I can only imagine what Vince McMahon must have been thinking at that moment.

These two have had three pay per view main events together. Each time I’ve picked Roman to win, and he never has. So keeping with the whole “definition of insanity” thing, why should this be any different? Based simply on the law of averages, Roman has to win at some point, right?

Unless, of course, we have a Money in the Bank cash-in. As we all know the Brooklyn fans are going to tear this match to shreds, you can make a convincing argument for Braun Strowman coming down, destroying them both, and walking out with the title. It works with Kevin Owens too. Heck, it would almost work better

Obviously, a great many fans hate that Brock Lesnar is still the champion. Me? I’ve actually enjoyed it. It’s a good story, and one they’ve never told before. So it works for me. But this does indeed feel like the end. Especially with the whole Heyman thing.

But don’t think this is the last time we’ll see Brock in a wrestling ring. Once this next UFC run is over, I see no reason he can’t come right back and have at least a few big matches. By then, I’d wager the fans will be happy to see him again.

PREDICTION: Roman Reigns
